Command the sunset battlefield
Sunset Command is a real-time strategy game concept whose current focus is its visual identity and battlefield presentation. Tanks, infantry, soldier-ridden motorcycles and helicopters share a coastal military setting under a vivid synthwave sunset.
The supplied gameplay illustration explores a base, roads, bridges and opposing forces, with resource counters, a minimap, selected units and a command panel. It presents the intended look of an RTS; the detailed economy, missions and combat rules still need to be worked out.
Tanks, riders, infantry and helicopters
The initial visual exploration centers on four unit types: a tank, a motorcycle with a soldier riding it, an infantry soldier and a helicopter. Their silhouettes should remain recognizable when the camera pulls back to show a group of units.
The intended design language draws on retro-futuristic 1980s military forms, geometric shapes, chrome and analog details. The unit designs are part of that direction alongside the neon palette and sunset scenery. Their final roles and interactions remain design questions.
A high camera with a view of the terrain
The chosen gameplay-camera direction is elevated and angled rather than looking straight down at ninety degrees. It should make formations, routes and the wider battlefield easy to read while keeping the shapes of vehicles, buildings and terrain visible.
Selection rings, team colors and a compact command interface are explored in the illustration. The camera height, scale of units and final controls still need to be tested in play.
Military synthwave on the coast
The artwork combines a striped setting sun, magenta and cyan lighting, palm-lined roads, mountain silhouettes and a distant city skyline. Concrete outposts and military vehicles give the colorful coast a recognizable battlefield structure.
Sunset Command is the title shown on the supplied poster. The project is at the planning stage, with these images defining the current visual direction and presentation goals for the RTS.
